Social Bookmarks

My social bookmarks page:

The social bookmarks project was very interesting. Through creating the social bookmarks, I was able to find and bookmark many useful websites and resources that I can use in my classroom. There were many websites that I found that offered learning games, lesson plans, or general knowledge that I can use to teach my students. I also bookmarked many websites for professional organizations. Many of the professional organizations had a webpage for the standards. For example, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) website has a link to the NCTM standards. These standards will help me when teaching my students. I can evaluate what I am teaching and see if it relates to the NCTM standards, and then adjust the content if needed.

I also bookmarked some of my favorite blog posts that I read this semester. Several of them offered advice to all teachers and I found that advice to be helpful. For example, one blog had a “Best of” blog post. This blog post offered some of what the author considered the best posts about library, media, classroom management, and other valuable resources. I found this blog post to be very helpful in continuing in my classroom management growth.

By doing the social bookmarks project, I learned of many websites and resources that otherwise I would not have known. These websites and resources will help me in my teaching. I feel that it is valuable to be able to communicate and share with others. We can all learn from one another and use that new information for the benefit of our students.
